South Windsor, Conn.- Gerber Coburn is pleased to announce the launching of its newest finishing product, the Kappa CT tracer and blocker, featuring the latest in centering and blocking technology.

Developed to streamline the finishing process and improve quality, Kappa CT eliminates virtually every manual step in the finishing process, said Todd Rhodes, director of product management, Gerber Coburn.

"Kappa CT has taken layout and blocking to a whole new level with its Centering Technology. What use to be the most complicated part of the finishing process has now been reduced to a simple touch of a button," stated Rhodes.

Rhodes went on to say, "Kappa CT was designed to work in any size retail finishing lab - from the very small to the very large. And it's feature packed to provide labs with added performance and productivity. Kappa CT employs many exclusive technologies such as 4-D tracing. Its software captures A, B, and frame DBL curve elevation and when our patented High Performance Mode is utilized, the 4^th dimension, frame groove profile, can be measured to further optimize fitting challenging frame sizes and shapes. And to accommodate today's trendy small frames, Kappa CT can accurately trace frames with B sizes as small as 18 mm," noted Rhodes.

"But what separates Kappa CT from other tracers and blockers, is its centering and blocking capabilities. With its powerful software and unique design, Kappa CT will accurately locate the optical center, bifocal segment, or fitting cross in just a few seconds. It also automatically re-aligns the image on the prescribed axis and presents it in the doctor's view" Rhodes said.

Rhodes went on to explain, "Besides the centering, blocking is also automatic. Once the lens is placed on the blocking station, Kappa CT's blocking arm picks up and automatically places the block on the lens, eliminating any manual de-centering or alignment."
